A nice surprise - glad I waited this long to try the half-case I bought four years ago. Lighter than expected, and soft - almost overwhelmed by the fresh tomato sauce. Needed about half an hour to open up, then a nice expression of nebbiolo. Glad to have more in the cellar.

harsh cherry in the beginning. Swirled it around the glass and let it sit for an hour, came back, a bit smoothed out but overall just not a pleasant wine. I'm giving up on nebbiolo.

A business dinner (Restaurant Bussia, Amsterdam, NL): Generally speaking I am a fan of the wines of Alto Piemonte, and this wine shows why. It is all about freshness and fragrance, and it emphasises the elegance which Nebbiolo (100% in this wine) is capable of. The purity and precision are commendable and the measured tannic extraction is exemplary. Lovely now and over the next 5-7 years.
