  At peak. At this point, the wine has mellowed and drinks like an old school cab. A solid core of fruit enveloped by mellow tannins. Far from a star of the vintage but enjoyable. Got better as it sat in the glass which suggests tgis is at peak but can stay there for 3+ years

  End of the night, Leonpalooza......last wine, which technically isn't fair. Screw top opened and was excellent for all of 15-20 minutes, then faded badly exposed to air over the next hour. Nice aged Cali fruit turned to stewed fruit and really just an average wine. Drink these in the first 15 min if you have them and don't wait a week longer than this note! The 92 score was for that first 15 min.....any longer and it's an 86! Lol......unless you like aged, stewed bland fruit....then it's a 98!

  Excellent, from a magnum. I took this to Brian's to celebrate his 40th. Crazy collection of wines, most of them much older. This bottle was drinking quite well and was in balance, several people thought wine had many more years left of great drinking. There were 6 bottles of Robert Mondavi reserve, 1987,90,96,97,98, and 01. Each one that I tasted was very enjoyable, but I can't say anyone stood out. I especially liked a BV private reserve from 1978 that was still special.(95pts)

  spicy hint of cherry needs an hour to open up a little to spicy for me personally would like a little wood oak and pencil flavor but still a good bottle overrated in my opinion 90 is being generous

  served for the "best bottle" night to celebrate Mike's return from a 4 year assignment in China for GM.(very hard to get great wine in China) Great big Napa Cab, was certainly a hit as it was gone too quickly!
