Italian Wine Scholar at the Texas Wine School. Pale ruby with a hint of garnet on the rim. Med aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries, potpourri, smoke, earth, cedar closet and sweet oak spices. Aged for 6 mos. partially in French barrique, oak casks and steel. Dry, with med (+) acidity and alcohol (13.5%) and med tannins. Nicely balanced, food-friendly, firmly Old World, with a palate-cleansing, slightly bitter finish. Drinking well now, not likely to improve with further aging.

Quite dark Pinot fruits on the nose, has almost NZ ripeness. Touch of cranberry too; quite good richness yet retains a fresh tang. Slightly sour acidity. Ok.
