This was really charming. The nose was so pretty - drifting out of the glass with a gentle perfume of white roses along with a hint of lychees, candied was pears, and then a twist of spice and smoky mineral. With time, and when it was less cold, typical notes of beeswax starting drifting out as well. Really aromatic and lovely. The palate was perhaps a step or two behind, lacking some of the peacock’s tail of aromatic notes that showed on the nose. It was nonetheless yummy though, with characterful flavours of beeswax, pears and apples, again touched with more aromatic notes of lychee and rose at the edges, and then a little kiss of spice on the backpalate. There was just a tiny bit of the low acid heaviness that a Viognier can sometime have on the finish, especially when it warmed up slightly. But when served chilled, this showed a nice cut and verve to it. Overall, a really pleasant early evening tipple. Good with seafood too.

Blind tasting. Nose of pure green apple crunch. Even apple flavored candy or buble gum. Tarter. Mouth soft mellow of apricot. Light bodied and elegant. Low acidity, velvety, mellow. Appreciated. Perfect for winter. Agathe's help.
