Day 2 and open from yesterday, but day one was a solid fresh expression none the less. Aromatic citronella and exotic pepper. Serious and very nice and not that $$$. Medium /- tannin. Medium acid. Surprising. It more prominent acid, but the overall balance is there. Dry for sure, but stuffed.

A family gathering featuring our good friend Malbec: The Wapisa Malbec was clear with a very deep—almost black—colour somewhere between purple and ruby. The rim was pink with a very thin clear edge. The smell was clean, with medium intensity aromas of black pepper, black fruit, and vanilla. The wine was bone dry with medium tannins and alcohol, medium(+) acidity, and a medium(+) finish. It was fresh and crisp with flavours of cola and cherry. The Wapisa was incredibly unique and went well with extra old white cheddar. This is definitely one I would buy again. $25 CAD.

Dull purple colour with no rim variation. Leads out with Red Cherry Asian spices and black peppercorns. Palate darkens with plum. mouthfeel of fresh grated ginger, note quite the correct descriptor for flavour, more the feeling. Cocoa late on way to a very dry finish. Medium tannin and high acidity notes by salivation.
