13.9% alcohol; imported by Vino del Sol, Paso Robles, California; medium weight foil; composite cork has a maximum wine penetration of two cm and has an aroma of grass and cork with a slight whiff of cloves; wine color is a very dark purple, long legs; nose of cassis, dark cherries, earthiness; opened, vinturied, and tasted about 15 minutes later at about 12 degrees C; full bodied, stone fruit forward in the front and middle of the tongue, much greater presence of minerals and earthiness in the back; increasing complexity; Ben Christiansen is spot on in his tasting of the 2018 vintage, this is darn good wine -- as usual, he assigns no numerical rating, so you have to read between the lines of his (usually terse) prose; the wine is a textbook example of the potential of Malbec in southern Argentina; it has a long finish which is not bitter but expresses sea level Patagonia and the South Atlantic beyond; pair with Argentinian beef, or a lighter meat like leg of lamb grilled on the spit; it is widely available at Costco and has a high QPR

The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, raisin, blackberry, clove, nutmeg and violet. It tastes like raspberry, blackberry, raisin, vanilla and violet. The body is medium/full. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Drinks well for the price with delicious fruit but not enough structure to keep it interesting.
