Appearance: medium ruby. Nose: medium intensity; aromas of black cherry, sandalwood, bay leaf, savoury, black olives, cherry ripe, toast. It’s developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus tannins with fine texture, high alcohol, medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, medium plus finish. Very good wine. Start to enter it’s drinking window. Beautiful and perfumed on the nose with approachable fruit singing and touches of Piedmont characters of earth, herbs and savoury notes. The alcohol is 14.5% but It doesn’t feel like that high because the acidity balances it perfectly. Such a lovely wine! One of the few Barbera that really astonish me. Another one impressed me this much was a Michele Chiarlo Nizza La Court 2013, which was more mature and integrated with red fruits. Give this one another year or two, it will probably further improve.
