  Stevie W provided this wine for our blind Xmen tasting this week. I drank the wine over the past two nites. Youthful in appearance, most guessed this wine to be no more than 5 yrs of age. Mostly black fruit and some oak notes on the nose. Medium body, a bit chunky, medium to high acidity, tannins very evident. There's a lot of fruit, primarily black cherries and perhaps some plum, and an earthy quality here. Found it lacking in depth initially, with not much to show in the mid-palate. However, that changed over time. Good concentration of fruit, nice length. An enjoyable wine overall from a good producer.

  Ricche note di frutti rossi e spezie con una nota di cioccolato. Morbido e suadente con un'acidità ben bilanciata. Bel prodotto

  Rich, ripe fruit, with a backbone of tannin and licorice. Did not decant, drank over 90 minutes with mixed Italian charcuterie, mozzarella, tomato, roasted peppers. Drinking well now.

  Opened for 2 hours. Color is deep purple / red. On the nose: Red fruits, plums and a hint of sweetness. On the palate: Lucious plum, dark chocolate and licorice. Quite a bit of astringency in the tannins. Good density on mouthfeel. This is a very good Barbara, not in the league of Conterno but also much less expensive.
