Christmas lunch with the wine ark boys (Porcine, Oxford Street): Savoury, slightly meaty, gamey, slightly oxidised notes but I find the alcohol prickle rather dominates the nose, muted red cherry fruit and a touch of herbaceous notes. Medium plus intensity acidity is juicy, red hued fruit again, tight and slightly coarse tannic grip, touch of savouryness, alcohol warmth less prevalent on the palate.

Barnyard, dairy, mint, rose, and tonnes of cherry and strawberry fruit. The fruit sweetness is impeccably balanced by crisp acidity and silky tannins which makes this beauty juicy and moreish in a very oldschool way. It has now entered its optimal drinking window, and I will drink my remaining bottles over the next year or so even if it will definitely keep well until 2026 or longer. I absolutely adore this wine, and I wish more producers would aim for this style of Chianti Classico...

Still really good at this price. A bit dirty but good harmony on the palate.

Final bottle no different than the previous two - such a mineral, fresh and pure sangiovese. I am buying more in 2018 and 2019 vintages!
