Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. Pleased to be trying it again after several years. Med+ ruby w/ a garnet rim. Showing little age. Intensely floral and aromatic, w/ violets, dried roses, potpourri, pink pepper, lavender soap, medicinal herbs, black fruit, blue fruit, spice & cedar closet, w/ the 12 mos in used French oak barrique becoming more prominent. Dry, with tart black fruit and a slightly bitter note on the finish. Med+ acidity, med, resolving tannins and med+ alcohol (13.5%). Still schizophrenic and polarizing, but certainly worth trying, Surprisingly age-worthy. Drink through 2024.

Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. Deep, intense ruby with a purple core and a magenta rim. Showing little age. Very floral and aromatic, with violets, dried roses, potpourri, pink pepper, lavender soap predominating over the black plum and blue fruit and spice. Aged 12 months in used French oak barrique. Unlike the sweet nose, the palate is dry, with tart black fruit. Med (+) acidity, tannins and alcohol (13.5%). As always, Lacrima is a little schizophrenic and polarizing, but I dig it. Tasted again on 10/19/21 with consistent results. Drink through at least 2022.

Indigena World Tour Day 3: The Marche (Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, NYC): [Just bottled.] Tart black cherry nose. Tasty, grapey, young, appealing. Opening up in the glass. Some potpourri in the nose.
