  • One of the wines I liked tonight. CBCC wine tasting of Piedmont wines. This one was a good one.

  • So sorry, we weren't paying a lot of attention since we were enjoying our sequestration and talking throughout dinner. What I can tell you is that the wine is balanced, yet subdued and needs much more time to evolve. It is light with good bright fruit and nothing dominating the palate. Many of my comments from 1/16/19 still hold solid.

My gut tells me this should get better with time in the bottle but I have had others before this from the same vintage and the only change is that it has smoothed out and lost some of its aggressiveness. What I'm not certain is if it warrants the price point.

  • Well balanced fruit and tannins, drinking well now but will improve, at least 5-10 years

  • Grabbed on the way out the door for dinner. Again this is an outstanding wine with a beautiful color, aroma and silky smooth elegant palate. Way too young to drink now but approachable. I would, if you must drink now, either decant or allow it to open for 2 hours minimum. It initially was restrained while elegant and good balance, acidity and tannins, however by the end of dinner the complexity of the wine expressed itself with moca, tobacco, earth, dark chocolate and much more. I will sacrifice another bottle and handle it properly and report back on if my perspective is accurate.

  • Outstanding but sorry no notes due to wonderful dinner and discussion with my lovely bride at Assagi in Mclean. Highly recommend wine and the restaurant. 25 corkage.
