Popped and poured and enjoyed a few glasses with dinner. Soaring aromatics of road tar, earth, and herbs. Earthy on the palate as well but the palate is a bit shy on day one. Slightly evolved on day two giving slightly more on the palate but still leaning toward the earthy notes. I'm guessing this will be better with another 10 years in the cellar.

Medium pale red, typical. Fruity fragrance, lightly spiced, floral hints. Benchmark Barbaresco. Feels in an ideal place, fruit, tar, tannins. Still youthful zest but nicely integrated and tannins supportive rather than overbearing. Has delicacy as expected but stilll with good intensity. Enough earthy complexity to suggest development but not dominating. Excellent drinking but easily another five in this place.

Empson Tasting (Bin 75): Lightly muted nose, a hint of red fruit, shutdown with lots of tannin on the palate.
