I have found a fair amount of variability with these wines over the past few years. However, despite being very different from the last one, this one was fun. Somewhat fruity, but more like the flavors I associate with very old Bordeaux. This bottle was still alive and still drinking well – not sure how the next will be.

Still fairly red in color, but clearly over the hill and on its way down. Some funk on the nose initially that blew off after about half and hour. Massive liquorice, leather and cherries. Quite fun, but I will avoid scoring this 15 year old Barolo.
