  • I have had a few of these over the past 3 years. Unfortunately, the acid is still prominent, and the fruit is quite light in body. I drank this over three days and it never impresses me. There is some cherry and strawberry aromas and flavors, but this has been out of balance from the start, and I don't see an upside.

  • Dominated by acid on day 1 this really came together on day 2. Very dark purple in color with a moderate to dense crushed purple (currants, fresh grapes) fruit on the nose that follows up on the palate. Still has significant acid on the palate (this IS Barbera) with a bit of vanilla. This is very nice mdern style Barbera, similar to something like the Vietti 'Tre Vigne'. it's packed pretty tightly now - I'm betting this will be noticiably better in 1-3 years. Defintely a good value ($20) and a very nice everyday serious wine.
