Tasted blind. Served next to the Krug Vintage Brut 2008, this was the antipode. Extremely charming, succulent, rich with oak, fresh croissant, like a 90ies Winston Churchill, orchard fruit and caramel but also enough acidity to make it refreshing. Loved it and confirms that I have approached my Giraud Champagnes too early.

Yeasty on nose but more creamy than yeasty on palate. Lots of old fashion and some McIntosh apple with orange creamsicle. Micro-bead still going strong. A lovely wine. Not sure about price point, but it was a gift I was happy to receive.

First Thanksgiving at LBH: Big, bold, terrific. Rich but balanced, honeyed, fine acidity. Greatly enjoyed. Would have liked to compare to La Grande Dame 2006

Domaine BYO feat. Charles Heidsieck (Chicago, IL): Massively scaled champagne, with a distinct golden colour likely due to all that oak aging. It definitely smells oaky, and there's plenty of oak flavour here as well. It's massive and opulent, but there's some acidity to balance it out. For me, this is a little over the top with respect to the style, but the pedigree is there and this is still quite delicious.
