Surprised at how ready to go this is. Another winner from the 17 vintage, with all the talk about how 17s will shut down, I've never actually seen one in that state yet.
1931 vines. Tight as hell when first poured but opened up over the course of the night. The wine itself is spicy and dashing, full of lush red fruits, blood orange, hawthorn, fresh almond flakes, and sweet strawberries. Stems inclusion were rather evident here and man I just love it! Youthful no doubt, but remarkably approachable already. Silky in the mouth and full of refined tannins. The finish is super precise and mineral, almost chalky.

1931 planted vines, 30% whole bunch. Deep, dark, dense and penetrating. There’s some underlying earth just below the flesh and white and purple florals grace the aroma. It has such presence and authority with supreme length.
