  • Awesome wine

Oak is a little too evident to my palate. I don't think age will help this, maybe I'm wrong. But it is a pleasant oak.

Nose: Tar, black fruits, dark chocolate/cacao, licorice, dark cherry, slight alcoholic heat, cranberries.

Palate: Delivers better than the nose. Plums, pomegranate, cedar, smoke, a nice handful of black white and green pepper.

The only downfall I feel is in the mouthfeel and the evident alcohol heat. Feels a tad watery and not velvety enought. But that's just me looking for perfection, I would easily buy this wine again and will actually seek it out. Cheers

  • Happy Malbec Day! Beautifully aromatic, luscious wine. Its name comes from the deep ruby colour of the wine that paint your glass with black tears. At 7 years of age this wine is near peak with harmonious aromas and flavours.

Powerful oak driven nose with notes of chocolate, new leather and cedar with a fruit backbone of black cherry and plum.

Tannins are chewy. Fresh acidity. Well integrated alcohol.

Flavours are earthy and pepper with chocolate, black cherry and plum.

    Long finish.

    Drink to 2024

  • 100% Malbec aged in new and second use French oak barrels for 24 months. Decanted.
Aromas show rich notes of boysenberry, blackberry, plum and cassis that shows effluent floral pastilles tones with anise, pepper, oak spice, cedar, herbs, coffee, earth and hints of new leather, cocoa and vanilla.
Rich on the palate. Warming from the abv and showing a creamy mid-palate, firm cocoa tinted tannins and juicy balancing acids. Flavors show deep fruit tones of plum, blackberry, boysenberry and cassis that mix with mocha, floral pastilles, anise, vanilla crème, oak and pepper notes that linger through the long finish that reverberates.

  • No formal note, a well made version of malbec that has less oak and more nuance.

  • The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and black pepper. The body is medium/full.
