  Would be hard to characterize this as old or new world. Tart cherry, very red fruited, dry, and alive. Some earth and mushrooms and spices, and just a hint of cherry cola which the Russian river adds (it works here tho). Drinking well but in no danger of dying. Very good.

  Rich without being heavy or hot; masculine and complex aromas; very good length and depth. Very hard to characterize this wine -- I can't map it onto any Burgundy equivalent, nor is it the usual ripe red/black fruit aromas of California pinot noir. Very savory. A wine I admired more than I enjoyed, but objectively well made and drinking very well right now.

  Took out to dinner at Prospect. PnP. Gorgeous nose and texture with enough crunchy red fruit aspect on the finish to accent the lovely flavors. At peak at age 11. Will keep for a few more years but wouldn't wait.

  Lovely tart red cherry, earth, and spice notes on the nose with layers of complexity on the palate and a long killer finish. Simply delicious!
