This is some pretty decent QPR from Portugal as they often are these days. On the nose, bramble like fruit, red, blue and black fruits present. Showing a blend. Hint of spices, some black peppercorn, and a slight green note. Much of the same on the palate, with some spice that lingers. Medium + acidity, medium to medium - tannin. This has mellowed out with time. My tastes have definitely shifted from wines like these, but good for what it is. A solid weeknight wine with no fuss.

A very good bottle from one of the more approachable wine regions in Portugal, Alentejo. A great introduction to the indigenous grape Touriga Nacional.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Petit Verdot make up the familiar 75% of this blend. The Touriga Nacional, mystery grape, makes up the rest.
The growers in Alentejo have adapted all our favorite grapes to their region with excellent results. This is a slightly more adventurous example.
Douro is limited to the existing grapes (World Heritage Site, check it out!) which have been traditionally used in Port. They make excellent and very interesting still wines but the overall flavors are somewhat unfamiliar to us and as such are a tougher sell.
