Tasting @Cru Vin Odense, Denmark. Good depth and complexity. Clearly GC level in both regards, aswell as fruit ripeness. This very much struggles with the purity of the fruit. Botrytis is not something I'm a fan of in Chablis, hence the score reflects this. I wonder if this was a fluke of the vintage or always their style at this level.

Wow...I didn't expect this to be as compact and precise as a young Raveneau or Dauvissat, but it is. Tons of oyster shell and mineral on the nose along with some softer fruit - peach, a little mango. Tastes like a salty ripe cantaloupe with a little mango - in a very delicate way. Bats way above its price point. Better in a year or two I imagine. I wish I had more! 93++

Peaches, oranges, mango, citrus on nose; palate is clean, elegant, subdued, demure, excellent, but slightly too muted, too shy, without the length one might hope; very beautiful, pretty in its own way, but without the desired presence and depth

WOW, WOW, WOW. The 2017 vintage in Chablis is excellent, but the top end wines are very highly allocated and expensive. Located this Grand Cru Valmur from Bessin at $85 per bottle. Outstanding young Chablis. Precise, focused and actually smells and tastes like Chablis - which is more than I can say for some of the top end Chablis from name brand vintners. Enjoyed with a colleague who is a Chablis expert and he was blown away. I have five more bottles and will be hard-pressed to keep my hands off of them over the next year or so....
