Precise and focused. Medium+ to high acidity, extremely well integrated. It delivers tons of lime, a little grapefruit, petroleum (which decreases over time), wet stone, a touch of mint and some unripe pineapple. Terrific balance and tremendous depth, especially after a little time in the glass, where the flavor profile really begins to shine. Good length as well. Drinking great at this point, but clearly has a lot of life left. This producer just never disappoints.

This needs a little while to open up in the glass but wow! Paler-medium yellow color, not showing many signs of aging. Explosive, deep and lazer-sharp, this is showing beautiful notes of lime, lime zest, green herbs (basil and mint), some black tea, smokey minerality, crushed rocks and other mineral notes. It‘s medium-full bodied, but seems lighter due to that vein of really high acidity cutting through everything and adding precision and focus. Excellent mid-palate weight and beautiful length too. This still seems pretty young and a little less evolved than the Felseneck GG. But a totally stunning Riesling of the very highest level. I love Schäfer-Fröhlich!

Wine from Schäfer-Fröhlich is always welcome. This has opened up and is showing some early maturity. Still a touch of yeast but more of lemon and minerals than in its youth. Very nice.

Translucent color. Primarily lemon and notes of yeast, at first it seems light, but there is high dry extract. Good length, still a youngster.
