Community Tasting Notes (9) Avg Score: 95.2 points

  • Expressive, full-bodied, juicy and at the same time complex and superbly balanced. The wine has body, a fine, silky texture and very good aromatic depth. The ripe acidity is perfectly dimensioned, holds everything together and balances the wine perfectly. Aromatically a mixture of lemontarte with a shortcrust pastry base and rather yellow, partly exotic fruits: Stone fruit, pineapple, jackfruit. A hint of butter from the wood. The wine has fat and body, but also plenty of freshness and elegance. 96/100 2024-2040

  • Day 1: On the first pour, piercing acidity, lemon, beeswax, and obviously young. Decanted and partially consumed over two hours, but only opened up a bit. Obviously high quality, but with limited enjoyment now. Wait. Revisit in 2030. Recorked 1/3 bottle.
Day 3: did not budge -- same profile. Young. 94+ for what it will be.

  • Star of the night. Decanted for one hour, great intensity of fruit, minerality with a long finish. Strong Smoky/Spicy character surprised me a bit but added another layer of complexity.

  • A private dinner (Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL): Immense power and drive, only a Bâtard could match its concentration, the minerality is more reminiscent of Chevalier, clear and precise, rock salt, tightly coiled, huge energy and drive, hewn from the rock, huge wafts of citrus, so fresh and bright, orange and peach, gently sweet and savoury oak, complex fruit and cream, oval palate, effortless balance, seemingly endless finish. An iron fist in a velvet glove. The epitome of the Maconnais. Quite incredible. You could put this blind in a line-up with Montrachets, and no one would know. Objectively too young, but I would rather drink this too young than not at all...

  • Initially, a bit heavy. After 30 minutes in the decanter this began to show it's youth and intensity. Best after one hour. Moderate aromas of lemon with hints of petrol. Similar moderate+ concentrated flavors, citrus rind, searing acidity, and a hint of alcohol. Full bodied. Complex. Long finish. Enjoyable now, but best to wait to 2030+. 94+
