Black fruit, toasted herbs & burnt spices. Med body, cooked red fruits (cherries, raspberries), little herb (dill?) and smoke thrown in. Med- finish, somewhat thin, with little supporting tannin.
Part of a Syrah tasting, this didn't play the role I expected. Lighter body than anticipated, but with very jammy/cooked fruits.

Not only is this a rare estate-bottled Barossa Shiraz under $20; it’s from some of the finest high-altitude and old vine holdings in the southern Barossa…vineyards partly over 100 years old that yield tiny quantities of superb, super-concentrated Shiraz.
Like that 2004 vintage, this could easily stand beside many Barossa Shirazes several times its price.

Ausholes and Kiwis: Unfortunately, this bottle had a very high volatile acidity that was hard to get past. Have had it twice, and while not stellar, it was very good.
