Something was off with the bottle. Almost like rotting hay, but somehow still with fruit. Hard to place, but not what it should have been or how people described it.

A blend of Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. 11.5%abv. District old oak on the nose then wet wool and tinned peaches. Quite a full and rich attack on the palate but drops away on the mid-palate to a slightly watery finish. Decent and a bit wacky and interesting. Glad to have tried this but I don’t need another.

Dinner@BA: Blind. Pale straw. Fresh, quite lifted nose with a sense of Riesling-like kerosine. Rounds with air. Fresh, quite high acidity, nicely fresh and quite light at 11.5%. Reasonably complex and quite long. ****

Very smokey nose. All wet wool and diesel fuel in the rain with just a hint of white peach. Very acidic with little to no fruit anywhere to be found the first day opened. The profile was dominated by acid, smoke and mineral. BUT the second day started to reveal some peach and apricot flavors to complement the strong minerality / smokiness. Still not enough fruit for my California sunshine and lollipop palate but with the right food and maybe some bottle age this might be very rewarding.
