Part of blind tasing / wine paring at CTC , Urban Gastronomy , Athens. An impossible mine to guess , no real clues other than being a blend and the age makes it even more confusing albeit it was vverg much alive and singing. Good wine not great. 89

Had a taste during service, courtesy of a customer Tight, mineral, flinty, some rubber notes, austere, citrus, a touch smoky notes, quince, grapefruit. Palate showing the same profile as the nose, with more fruit, some ripe fruit notes, high acidity, med body, long finish

SA Wimps 2023; 5/27/2023-5/28/2023 (La Trompette): this was lovely - super balanced, a fellow diner remaked whitecurrant flavour to it which I think makes sense. Perhaps a little shorter on the finish than other wines in this flight, but i’d be thrilled to have some at home.

South Africa WIMPS #165 26th May 2023 (La Trompette, Chiswick): There's a real mountain stream freshness / minerality here on pouring. With time some white currants and lime zest emerges. There's a pleasant greenness to the palate that reminds me of sweated leeks with some melted butter. At its best 15 minutes after pouring doesn't really improve in the glass after that compared to others in the flight.

Interesting herbaceous and honeysuckle nose. Balanced on the palate but flavour quite muted. Technically nice but maybe the age has killed the fun.
