Terroir-istes International - France, Rhone, Cornas, Du Tunnel Comparison (Groot Constantia): CT (Tasted Blind):: A Medium to deep red to garnet colour; Intense and deep bouquet of blue fruit, wild herbs, violet, blackcurrant and kirsch with some savoury elements leaning to roast meat. Fresh and ripe, there is some development here, excellent intensity and a rich texture. There is a more acidic drive, quite rasping giving elegance and making the wine sit upright. Complex, with chunky, dense tannins the mid-palate shows kirsch, and raspberry morphing to prunes. Warning finish.

OMG! It is said that there is no such thing as a "great wine," only great bottles. This was just one of those fantastic bottles that had everything: Blackberry on the nose, tobacco, wonderful! Yet, on the palate wonderful complexity that included anise and spice. Just great!
