Lunch at Les Amis (Les Amis, Shaw House, Singapore): I really enjoyed this - it was a very yummy, very drinkable village Meursault. The nose was quite pretty, with white flowers, Chantilly cream, and lifted notes of candied grapefruit and yuzu zest, maybe a hint of stone fruit in there, all lined with a nice slatey minerality. So nice. The palate was a touch simpler, but still very attractive, with an almost deceptively freshness and energy, where bright grapefruity acidity held up otherwise fairly weighty, creamy textures of white peach, nectarines and another little blush of florals heading off into a mid length led finish that had just a little bit of chalkiness and a dusting of nutmeg spice at the end. When it warmed up, it felt a touch of sweeter, with some almost candied grapefruit notes coming out at the end. Nothing spectacular, but just a really nicely yummy village. Good at this level.
