Lemon coloured with golden hue, medium(-) intensity. Developed, medium intensity nose. Typical chenin aromas with accentuated yellow fruit, quince, wax, a floral note and an impression of bitterness. On the palate a tiny sweetness, medium(+) acidity, medium(-) body. 13%. Flavours as aromas plus some yellow flowers. Starts round, finish with an acidity bite (the chenin crescendo impression). Finely textured. Very good length. Day two and all impressions diminish with a (too) intrusive acidity. Drink now!
From 30 year old Chenin blanc vines, organically grown in sand and chalk on tuffeau at a cooler side of the Brézé hill. Indigenous yeast, fermentation in stainless steel. Blocked malo. Matured 12 months, whereof 50% in old barrels, before bottling.

Starting to show a bit more complexity. Quince, wool, lemon peel, honey, bruised apple, and candied ginger lead to a broad and dry palate that ends with some tartness. Really tasty stuff that shows no oak and leaves lingering flavors.

Reasonable presentation from the region, very easy to drink, paired with salmon which it did well with.
