  • One day ago i rated this wine 93+ cf. below. Today I opened a new bottle. The quality was not at all at the same level. Rating 90. (This time we used Zalto Bourgogne glasses. Yesterday it was a "standard tulip glass". Didn't have time to check with both glasses).

Rating one day ago: "What a great surprise. So much of Comte Lafon's classical white Burgundy style is put into Les Heritiers du Comte Lafon located in Southern Burgundy. And the prices make them Best Buys.
This Wine: Was the best wine in the tasting. Aromas of lemon, peach, apricot, butter, lots of popcorn/toast. Medium+ acidity, medium alcohol and medium+ finish. 93+"

  • Very light golden with quite a lot of butterry notes and lemon on the nose also significant mineral notes. Very juicy to the taste with a good balance on fruit and acid. Unfortunately the taste is quite short.
Drank with lobster and grilled fish with sauce nage - a very nice combo.

  • Lunch at Bar-a-Thym (Bar-a-Thym, Singapore): Pretty good. Clearly warm and ripe and a bit blowsy when served at a less than ideal room temperature, this really found its feet when served chilled with a nice bowl of Bouchon mussels in a Thai-inspired sauce. The nose was very Mâconnais, with ripe notes of pineapples and melons, cream and a little kick of minerality. Attractive stuff. The palate was yummy too. The ripeness of terroir and vintage was there in the form of red apples, guavas and pineapple flavours, but these were lined with a lovely bit of very Burgundian acidity, along with a nice shade of minerality pulling away at the finish. There was a nice depth and breadth to the wine, along with a very food-friendly balance. Very young still, so this may get a bit better in the next few years down the road. I enjoyed it even now though.

  • Nice attack but seems heavy and alcohol was present on the finale
