I had a fun experience with this- it was my first time blind tasting a white wine (had NO info on it whatsoever except the shop it was purchased from, and they have a huge variety.) I ended up guessing white burgundy, but a great mid-range bourgogne blanc from the cote d'or rather than a chablis. Close enough for me to call a small victory!
The palate should have given it away. The nose was somehow both understated and concentrated- gentle but very persistent and beautiful aromas of lemon/lime citrus, a chalky/powdery mineral thing, and a pinch of almond or almost vanilla. That vanilla-like tone threw me off; I thought maybe it was from oak, but it was more likely just lees-contact or perhaps malo.
The palate had much less of that "rich" tone and was all about super energetic, vibrant citrus. A boatload of lime zest and salty minerality ("oyster shell"!) I loved the balance of fruit and acid here, extremely lively but absolutely never tart or shrill, just super well-rounded and complete. I actually preferred this to a couple of Chablis 1ers I've tried in the past, although that could be because I'm on a chard kick in general right now.

Much too advanced for a wine this young. Little left to enjoy here from this bottle.

A lovely crisp Chablis. Nothing too complex but well balanced and a real easy drinker! Great value for money!
