And another consistent bottle. Moderate, pleasant, authentic new-world pinot that avoids too much fruit, even if it doesn't have awful lot of other dimension. Drink up.

Just to note that this was utterly consistent with the previous bottle opened a fortnight ago; what can't be debated as far as screwcaps are concerned is the consistency of the drinking experience...

{screwcap, 13.5%} Fading garnet/brick, touch of rust about the colour. Nose is quite aged, all sous bois and undergrowth, cured meats, pastrami; quite intense and obviously was very fruity in its youth. The palate doesn't quite live up to the promise of the nose; the tannins have pretty much departed the scene, although the acid is balanced and juicy. The finish is a little on the short side; but as an eight-year-old 'second wine' this is looking OK. Pleasant with food but probably on the developmental downslope; best before its tenth birthday, I should say. Two more bottles left; will be interesting to observe the consistency under the screwcap.
