Similar note to before, but possibly slight improvement in this bottle. Still don't think it's one to to keep.
The wine is clear and light ruby in colour. The nose is clear with medium (+) intensity fairly simple fruit aromas of ref fruit (strawberries, cherries, redcurrants) and floral (violets), and hints of secondary oak (vanilla). The wine is youthful. The palate is dry with medium (+) acidty, medium (-) body, low soft tannins, medium intensity flarvours of strawberries, redcurrants, cherries, violets, oak. The finish is medium. The wine is good quality. it is a classic standard NZ pinot noir with typical simple red fruits flavours. It lacks complexity (either from tertiary development or range of primary flavours) and the finish is not long. The wine should be drunk now and is not suitable for further ageing (although there is no hurry to drink). It shows no signs of tertiary development and lacks the flavour intensity to support development in the future.

Attractive combination of wild raspberry and barnyard, herbs, boletus, manure. Ripe on the palate, generous, good balance between ripe red fruit and decaying flavours. Clean finish, long. Keep

Deep Pinot fumes of strawberry, sous-bois, dry shrubbery, clove. Full bodied yet light of feet, crisp red fruits, good earthy character, spice. The finish suggests that this is ready but I believe it will improve. 90-91

House Warming Party Round 2 (St Johns, Auckland): typical Martinborough PN. medium/light ruby, even and clear. fresh strawberry and red cherry nose. fresh red fruits and fresh acidity (a little lean), some French oak touching, well balanced. medium/light bodied, smooth texture. fine and concentrated core and linear palate. very accessible one, well crafted and delicious.
Alc 13.5%, TA 6.55 g/L, pH 3.68, RS 1.0 g/L. French Oak barrels – 13% new, 25% 1 year old, 62% 2- 5 years old.
