Lifted and lively on the nose: sweet black, purple and blue fruits, diverse spices, Christmas stuff, licorice, rye and mint. Supple, great acid cut, easy tannins, long finish is tart and spicy. Amazingly freshness and levity for Mourvedre, this stuff is rad. This note is from day two, with a couple glasses missing from the bottle. It has improved a ton. Definitely worth looking for.

Deep, dark, rich burgundy in color, full bodied Explosive nose. Loads of floral, iodine, vitamin, notes. Dark berries. Aggressive acidity, tannin is obvious. Unctuous, and a little grippy. Long finish. Elements of blood as mentioned in other's notes. Saline notes are pervasive. This is a great wine for the price. It's far too youthful, fresh, and vibrant for me to love right now, but in 3-5 years this could be a 92 pt wine. Very impressed with my first bottle of Ochota. The owner/winemaker recently died. Tragic. RIP 'brother'!

Immensely fruity and mineral.... Aromas of huckleberry, black cherry, prunes, blood, rusty iron, white flowers and purple vitamins, something herbal too... Fresh and lively, with lots of dark flavors, but not a ton of weight. Very mild tannins for such an acidic Mourvedre, satin textured and tart, lots of juiciness but very dry. Full of black, blue and purple fruit through the finish, there's plenty of earthy and mineral stuff too. This should age well, but I would check on it in a year or two to see what's up before taking it further.
