  • A soft start is followed by tart fruits, tartaric/malic in nature, not overdoing it and nicely integrated. This brings a lot of freshness and youth. It is quite linear and not really deep in taste, with dominating red berry fruits that go from a touch of raspberry to start with to cherry and strawberry. A mineral streak is present constantly adding some complexity. This could benefit from some chilling and would then be a great partner to a diner with a variety of small dishes, from seafood and grilled veggies to white meats.

  • 100% Romagna Sangiovese. Fermented and macerated for 15 days in concrete tanks. Aged for 6 months in concrete tanks, then blended together and left to marry for another 4 months in stainless steel. 12,5% alcohol.

Pale, translucent and rather youthful ruby red color. Dry, spicy and slightly sappy nose with aromas of wild strawberries, some cranberries, a little bit of tobacco, light sour cherry tones and a sweet, perfumed hint of orchard flowers. The wine is dry, lively and juicy on the palate with dry, pure flavors of wild strawberries, tart cranberries, some stony minerality, a little bit of dried herbs, a little bit of sanguine iron and a hint of pipe tobacco. Quite firm and sinewy texture and rather structural overall feel, thanks to the high acidity and moderately grippy medium tannins. The finish is dry, crunchy and gently grippy with pure and quite long flavors of sour cherries, some stony minerality, a little bit of fresh cranberries, light tart notes of lingonberries, a savory hint of earthy spice and a touch of blood.

A pure, clean and sophisticated Sangiovese reminiscent of a serious Chianti or a very young Chianti Classico. Might be lacking some depth and complexity, but makes it all up with its intense, fresh and precise fruit and attractive, chiseled overall feel. Not a grand vin, but definitely a lovely everyday wine for the fans of classic, fresh and crunchy Sangiovese. Might gain some more depth and nuance, if left to age for a few more years. Lovely.
