Was able to recently acquire this for a song and decided it was worth a shot, fully expecting it to be well over the hill. Surprisingly, it still showed quite nicely! Fruit had faded, but still present. Dried red fruits with an underlying note of spice, primarily anise and black pepper. Still lively on the palate, with a wonderful acidic backbone. Tannins mostly resolved at this point. This was a really fun wine to drink! Syncline is one of my favorite producers and this really bodes well for the aging potential of their wines.

Nice dark ruby red color. Raspberry, cherry, licorice, and pepper on the nose. Medium body with ripe, persistant tannins and good acidity. Spicy, peppery cherries and raspberries on the palate and long finish. This is very tasty stuff. Side note, closed with a glass stopper instead of traditional cork, which I liked.

Nice, easily drinkable syrah. As mentioned in earlier TNs, it lacks depth to be rated mcuh higher.
