Pale garnet color. Pronounced aromas of sweet baking spices, vanilla, black tea, forest floor, red plum, sour plum, red current, fresh strawberry, a bit of VA. Dry, med body, high acidity, med alcohol, med(-) silky tannins, med finish. Complexity is there but alcohol sticks out and finish isn’t really long. There’s some bitterness on the palate too. It’s still primary but I’m a little skeptical of aging capability as fruit intensity isn’t high and alcohol is noticeable despite its 13% abv. I dont think it goes bad anytime soon, though. Also I don’t think this is particularly good value. 82+

lovely bottle of german pinot. red fruits, smoke, pate, dried thyme, etherical. palate is an everlasting bomb. high acidity - biting. firm tannin grip at the finish. and then an almost endless flow of black currant. mothwatering at it‘s best. very impressive.

Not much to add to Notrollingerplease's note; this is showing very well now, ready but with a youthful muscularity and freshness still evident. I greatly preferred it to a 2012 I had in Stuttgart earlier in the year, although I think this will continue to drink well for 5+ years.

The biggest disappointment of our Baden wine tasting evening.
I've had several vintages of Huber's Alte Reben so far, and all were very, very good wines, full of elegance.
This was an OK-ish pinot, but just a bit above the standard unexciting 10-EUR stuff; it's what you'd expect for 12-13-EUR. Lightyears away from earlier Alte Rebens.
Paid 34 EUR for it which is absurd.

Approachable wine with savory nose with red berries, earthy tones. Palate is smooth and quite concentrated, remarkable is the long aftertaste.
