Utregs Wijnhuis tasting Exclusief (Utregs Wijnhuis, Utrecht, NL): [Tasted blind] Identified as Cote de Beaune, but called rich Meursault. Ripe and fat, without being flabby or ill-defined. Beautiful acidity to match the richness. Medium+ intensity on the nose with aroma’s of ripe fruite, melon, ripe stone fruit, caramel, popcorn, toast & brioche. Medium+ acidity, medium+ intensity on the palate with comparable flavors. Long finish.
Made from 70 year old vines in the center of Le Charlemagne, aged for 14 months in 40% new 456 liter barrels
The wine was opened 8 hours before the tasting and decanted four times.

POB tasting EP18- For a ripe vintage, the wine had very good precision espeically for a Corton Charlie which can be broad and fat. Good acidity especially for this vintage. Very generous intensity on the palate. A solid Corton Charlie.

4-5 large barrels produced. From the Aloxe side. 2/3 new oak. Pierre Vincent’s modern style of winemaking works really well in this terroir. Vibrant array of exotic fruits and creamy spices. Full-bodied with potent fresh fruits and refreshing acidity. Impressive intensity. (90-91/100)
