  • Pronounced nose intensity with lemon, green apple, grapefruit, pear. Nose is aromatic and showing well. However on the palate, the acidity is off balance. Need more bottle ageing.

  • Slow oxed for 1 hour plus before serving. Strong gunflint and sulphur on the nose that had layers of citrus underneath it. On the palate, the producer style dominated the terroir at this point of the evolution. The nose was more intense than the 2020 PVG Meursault Charmes. Still needs time but quite promising.

  • Pierre Girardin has quickly become one of my favorite producers of white Burgundy. The wines are just so bright and full of energy! This is my first time tasting his Corton-Charlemagne, and it certainly delivers. There is a lovely balance here between the punchy acidity and rich & weighty fruit, which isn't always the case with Corton-Charlemagne, a vineyard which, of course, can produce somewhat fat and flabby wines in the wrong hands -- but Girardin really nailed it. I’m a huge fan of this!
