Great wine, opened up beautifully with an hour or so in the decanter. Get some if you can find it, the oak integration is exceptional and an abundance of dark profiled tastes with tar, black currant, plums. Has a left bank essence.

Moss Wood Zoom Vertical tasting. Screw-cap Drank in Grassl 1855. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of floral violets, boysenberries, black cherries, dark plums, blackberry, blackcurrant, thin layer of mint menthol and hint of leafiness. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, soft but structured high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of cool black fruits, black cherries, blackberry, dark currants and plums, minty menthol, tobacco leaf, cool eaethy + minerally feel. Long fine juicy finish. Lingering blackcurrant berries. Very good quality. Nice and cool classicism. Will age gracefully.

Not your typical cab. Definitely not the extracted and linear Bordeaux school, but it's Old World-like in a way. Some red fruits, surprisingly, like cherries and red plums, it's not really dark (neither in colour). Unforced, rather intense than concentrated on the palate. Silken texture. Absolutely polished and seamless and so different, it has the X factor. A special wine.

If you drink this wine less than half an hour in the decanter you are missing out on most of it. A dynamic changeable wine. It has blackcurrant black plum blackberry juxtaposed with earth dirty water and nutmeg cinnamon and mint and tobacco and cafe au lait with a hint of mushroom. Soft mouth feel. Well balanced medium to full body with good length. Riedel Bordeaux glass at 16 degrees. Estimated window of maturity 2027-2040. NS

Pronounced nose intensity with notes of blackcurrant, black fruits, spices, flora. Medium+ acidity and tannin. Drinking beautifully from 375ml, decanting will certainly help to smoothen the edges.
