I seem to have quaffed this wine without noting down anything - now on bottle 8/12 - still deep and little colour age, mint and blackcurrant nose with more herbiness, green wood in a pleasingly slightly austere palate. I agree with other comments that it perhaps lacks the complexity of Bordeaux blends but nonetheless v good. I bought it for £36 - not a bargain but not a rip-off. Scoring it down slightly.

Dark garnet. Pronounced nose and flavours. Cooked, ripe cassis, plum, menthol, cedar, clove, toast. Developing. Medium acidity, med+ fine , chalky tannins, high alcohols, full body. Long finish. It’s very good, in your face, Cabernet, but it lacks finesse for my palate. Structure and concentration for further development over the next 5 years.

Margaret River Tasting (Bistro Cocotte, Haberfield): Polished oak, blackcurrant, sweet spice, methol, slight toast, a little cream. In the mouth it's juicy, fleshy with alcohol heat, plentiful oak, a little stewed black currant, tannins are talc tending to chalky textured, polished. Rich and, in it's defence, balanced in a big bolshy way.

Second day and comparative tasting against great CH Margaux and super Tignanello. The wine did a fair job of holding its own. Initially a little simpler and fruity but quick developed more interesting complex flavours and freshness. Dark fruits and clove, anise.
