Jason & Simon's Village Burgundy Tasting Dinner (67 Pall Mall): WOTN for me. There's a breadth to it, an almost generosity on the palate but one still perceives the intensity of the fruit, and the structure isn't 1er cru for sure. Jolly nice stuff.

Village Burgundy from Good Producers (67 Pall M): Smoky blue fruits. Some pomegranate to. Youthful but brilliant. Palate is youthful and in need of time but not shut down in the way our Volnays were. With air some sweet chestnut and violets appear.

Jason's Village Burgundies II (67 Pall Mall): Bright and forward, open and alive. Bright glossy cherry, a lick of edgy spiced ginger or something. The vintage is speaking quite strongly. Young, but lovely - only 'village' but you have to say is worth the premium, or that's what I thought until someone told me the latest price for a case of three. You'd have to think quite hard about it! Taking nothing away from a highly appealing wine though, delicious.

Village Burgundy: Dense ruby. Plush and rich. Dense velvet. Spicy nose. Less expressive than the MG. A density, in some ways understated.. 18 shows. Needs a decade. Promising. ***(*)

Metallic reduction with moderate oak, but when it opens up, so spicy and perfumed. Less ethereal (younger, obviously) than the 11 but a denser core. Elegant and lacy fruit. Great wine. 93
