  • Delicious, full flavoured Pinot. Drinking v well right now.

  • 100% Pinot Noir
    from Tapihue and Lo Ovalle in Casablanca Valley
    with clay loam soil and vines ~12 yr old.
    Manual harvest. Selection in vineyard and winery.
    No crushing. 7-day cold (8*C) maceration.
    8-10 day fermentation at 24-26*C.
    Twice daily pump-over and punch down.
    Total skin contact 22-24 days.
    Malolactic.
    Aged 10 months in 3-4 yr old 300 L barriques (17%)
    and 5,000 L foudres (83%)
    from Coopers: Nadalié and Marsannay.
    Cold stabilized. Unfined.
    13.5% Abv. 5682 bottles
    Founder: Thierry Villard (of Jacobs Creek fame) in 1989.
    Winemakers: Son Jean Charles Villard, and Anamaria Pacheco

    A(ccuray)=2: Med ruby. Fresh, focused varietal.
    B(alance)=3: Distinctive fruit with harmonious acid structure.
    C(omplexity)=2: Red berries, spices, soft tannin.
    D(epth)=1: Silky mouthfeel. Good length and finish.

    Nice touch with used French oak.
