  • Surprisingly open. Whole cluster notes, ripe pinot fruit. Very enjoyable

  • Decanted. Lots of stems the first 90 minutes. Then fresh red berries and spice. Medium body. Moderate complexity/moderate+ tangy finish with light tannins. This will age well. Overall, The couple 2018s I’ve had are structured to age and in need of air. Drinkable now via decant, but patience will be rewarded. 92-94.

  • Bottle No. 154 from 574 bottles produced. Vines planted in 1985 low on the slope in Prémeaux-Prissey, berries all millerandé, yield only 20 hl/ha because of the hail, 100% whole bunch, 13.5% ABV. Yep, it's cult. Very cult. But it lives up to the billing. This is just ridiculously delicious, about the most pure and playful but still serious expression of young Burgundian Pinot Noir imaginable. Cherries and berries and cardamom, spices and fleshy peach, smoky stalks and freshness, flowers and gentle tannins, juicy and scented, generous and elegant, lovely persistence. So harmonious and at one with itself. My only bottle. I need 573 more. Or maybe just 12? Chris? Please?

  • Sourced from the slope of Primeaux Prissey. A generous, gorgeous and exiting wine, delivering bright, rich, powerful blackberry, velvety, concentrated with a long, complex finish. Sensational and Glorious Regional, Bourgogne Rouge !!
