Still exquisite. Perfect with a multicourse meal at Spinasse, particularly the Tajarin al ragu, agnolotti, pork gnocchi and crepe filled with talleggio.

Deep garnet colour. Pronounced and developed nose with prune, raisins, leather, tobacco, tar, oak and licorice. Pronounced taste of prune, raisins, leather, tar, tobacco, oak and licorice. Long and dry finish. High acidity. High tannins. Full body. A very good and well matured Barolo that is peaking. Needed an hour of air to open. Drink now. Goes well with beef or lamb.

I thought I wouldn't like this. Certainly a modernist by rep, and 2003. But, not bad. The modernist part is mainly manifest by the fact that there was no sediment for a 17 y/o Barolo, which I think is weird. Definite rose in the nose. The ripe fruit is sous-bois-y with age. No obvious wood. So, nice.

Muted cherry notes and some lanolin. Not showing much Nebbiolo typicity, either tired or showing the vintage.

Mildly corked, undeniably so but the ripe fruit a still showed through, just without length
