  • On par with the terroir. Very nice but young, super lengthy. To revisit 5-7 years from now.

  • Very good but a very big rich wine. Was a little too big at opening for me (but still fairly balanced). After two hours of air in bottle it was VERY GOOD. and no longer had any heaviness

Would give these 2017 Meursault 1er crus plenty of time!

  • CNY drinks (Casa Esperanza): Lovely, and starting to develop nicely. The nose was very attractive, with wafts of sweet cream and brioche, sweet apples and lemon curd, chalk and flint, all laced with a little white floral touch. Very Meursault. Very Perrieres. With time, some sweeter tropical notes came out at the sides too. The palate was still youthful, but already absolutely delicious, showing a wonderful clarity to its notes of white fruit, red apples and little tropical pineapple notes, all these lined with lovely reams of juicy lemony acidity and stony mineral as the wine stretched away into a beautifully long finish.

  • Dinner with Sean (Nicolas Restaurant, Teck Lim Street, Singapore): Another lovely bottle from the case - I am going through these a little too fast. The nose here showed nice tones of toasted nut and butter, plenty of chalky, earthy mineral notes, and then melons, apples and something that reminded me of breadfruit, all these traced with a fresh whiff of lemons and a little spiciness at the edges of the bouquet. Lovely. The palate was delicious too - there was a great sense of cut and definition to it, with a real bedrock of chalky, stony mineral undercutting rich Meursault tones of cream, butter and white, again seasoned with a little bit of spice. This was a perfectly balanced and integrated mouthful, with bright, but perfectly integrated acidity threaded through those generous flavours, all the way into long, full finish of mineral and spice. A lovely wine, showing wonderfully well in its relative youth.

  • Lovely again. It took awhile in the glass to open up, but when it did, it showed a lovely Meursault Perrieres nose of cream, white corn, and white fruit touched with flinty mineral, chalk and gentle touches of peppery spice. Very nice. Still rather youthful on the palate, this showed bright lemony acidty and a nice grip of mineral running through lovely, generous flavours of white fruit, maybe peach, cream corn, a touch of grapefruit at the edges, with just a trace of stony mineral and a smidgen of peppercorn spice leading into a sneakily long finish. Very nice indeed, with its best years ahead of it yet. Try again in 2025-2026
