Wow...7 years old and monster fruit on the nose, rich blue and black berries on the palate. Subtle and gorgeous finish, smooth as a babies bottom. still 2-3 years to go.

Crimson in color. On the nose, it smells like florals and aromatic strawberry jam. On the palate: blackberry, flint, pine, nutmeg and molasses with a nice finish. High quality 100% Mount Veeder. Excellent representation of Zinfandel and drinking fantastically now.
90% Zinfandel, 10% Charbono, Mourvèdre, Carignane
Oak Program: 16 months - 100% French Oak - 30% new “Burgundian Coopers”

Any rough edges noted in my prior note from two years ago have now been resolved. This has developed quite nicely and all components: fruits, tannin, oak, and acidity are now completely in balance. Fresh red florals, juicy raspberries, sweet cherries, wild strawberries, crushed plums, spiced vanilla, hints of red iron and dried red dirt reveal themselves as this unfurls in the glass. This can be enjoyed with or without food. Wonderful balance in the mouth with a solid dry finish. Drink now, or though 2028.

Very uncharacteristic of Zinfandel. Lot of white pepper spice and none of the sweetness associated with Zin. Not a lot fruit notes either. Drink like a light and gentle Cabernet Sauvignon.
