  • opened about 3 hours prior to tasting- enjoyed over a 2 hour period

good bright lemon color- quite youthful, this was a bit of a caricature at first- a good bit of petrol on the nose and showing some of the heft and sweetness of the vintage on the palate before leading into an overly dry - almost trocken- finish, with time it came together better and remains quite youthful with time in hand, on the nose- peaches, lemon zest, thick citrus, beeswax, on the palate with the fleshy character of the vintage- grapefruit, black cherries, apple peel, and then quite zesty citrus elements leading into a good lengthy finish with lingering lime acid notes, on balance this has come out rather well considering concerns about the wines of this era at first release, attractive in its way and an especially fine choice for those who prefer drier wines, many years to go and possibly some further development in store- but lacking the electric mineral zest and full degree of breed that comes in this wine at its finest.

  • Palest straw. Very crisp, mineral, precise nose. Lovely acidity on the bright attack, great line and effortlessly light here without sacrificing any intensity. Sweet fruit, a touch of citrus, but laser-like acidity and impeccable poise. Very classy and showing beautifully now. Very sorry to only have a single bottle of this. ****
