Good. Full with a distinctively waxy mouthfeel. Honey, lemon curd, flowers, pineapple, preserved lemon. It was perfect with roasted sea bass, but I would not serve it with anything requiring a bone dry white burgundy eg oysters etc.

Overall this is a nice wine, good fruit, nice mix of roundness and crisp acidity, and very moreish. The character of the 2018 vintage is apparent with some back-end sweetness. If you can get over this then you have an easy-drinking white burgundy that delivers good quality for a good price.

Another consistent bottle, #6 of 12. This is simple white burgundy that delivers good things for the price. It is rounder than it is lean, but it is well made and really rather nice. Fresh white fruit, some apple and some lemon rind, a bit creamy, clean as a whistle.

Reasonably priced Burgundy (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Green olive, tarragon, tart pineapple, burnt butter. Some sweetness and fatness but a lovely sharp bead of acidity, some smoke and a long finish. Really nice.

Basic Bourgogne (TWS), 23 November (Must and Lees, Warren Street): This was the clear winner next to the Saumaize, with a sunny, candied lemon nose full of tropical notes - pineapple and honeysuckle to the fore.
Similar on the palate with good washes of honey, pineapple, and a warming heat in line with the vintage.
I could drink a lot of this on a sunny day.
