Really good, but still needs time. Opened this alongside an older Burgundy to decide which we wanted to take to dinner out. This was tight as nails upon opening and I felt that even a decant would not be sufficient, so after a taste I replaced the cork firmly into the bottle and returned to it two nights later. After those two days under re-cork it had softened quite a bit and was drinking well. Even so, it was fairly tannic at first, opening a bit more over the course of the evening. I definitely don't find the excessive alcohol noted below, but can see how it could peak through if the wine was quite closed otherwise and not given enough air and time. Good cherry fruit with a firm tannic spine and sufficient acidity to carry the fruit flavors. Revisit in 3-5 years, should hold considerably longer.

This is a wine that really benefitted from air. Upon opening, it was a bit vegetal and stemmy. With some air it spread out and the fruit was more apparent and those notes became herbs, flowers, and savory hints. Even then, it was more backward than the Conti. It's been three years since my last bottle and I thin for this one 2-3 more years is appropriate.

A nebbiolo substantially suffering from too much alcohol. Color already some slight brownish tint on the edge together with the translucent color noted by another tasting note below mine. Pretty nose of fresh plum, balsamic vinegar stones meat and some white flowers in the far background. Then the problems... alcohol already in the nose. In the mouth tannins are in the middle of development, not too young not entirely smooth yet. Again fruit on the palate, like freshly cut plum and red apple and then in the aftertaste too much alcohol and some dried berry fruit to support the view that the harvest or vineyard management may not have been optimal. The wine is not fully developed but not far from being ready, I would give another 2 years in the bottle. Final bitterness to further highlight the alcohol/fruit problems. For the rest I agree with other tasting notes, no oak, ideally elegant if not for the alcohol problems, unfortunately. Overall, I would not buy this wine, uncertain development although I like the style of the winemaker.

Excellent wine. Expressive floral + cherry + herbal nose. Translucent light garnet. More flowers and cherries and herbs - rosemary, mint - in the mouth. Some pepper and grapefruit zest on the finish. Very fresh. Very balanced. On the light side of mid-weight. Elegant.
Really nice stuff! No oak. No austerity. No harsh tannins.

Pop and pour, notes from 24 hrs open. Previous notes still apply, but this comes off as more approachable now.
