It’s Beaujolais Nouveau day today, but I would rather have a regular Gamay. Division it is. New release that just landed at Schloss Bueker in October, but it’s already open, aromatic and easy to drink. Overall this feels a little more Loire-esque than Beaujolais to me, but just the same it’s about fruit with all sorts of seasonings, from tobacco, to roasted meat and on to crushed herbs blended with chalk. Smelling it was a joy. That’s the sign of an enlivening wine, when just a sniff makes me smile.
I’m still smiling.

Beautiful stuff, again, from Division. Loving the spicy, pepper, beefy tones on the nose, along with smoke, earth, over red cherries. Ripe but so fresh, silky tannins, vibrant acidity, with plump cherry fruit. Lots of smoke, pepper and beef tones, which I really like, add some savory character to the rose and violet petal notes. I'm convinced blind some friends would guess Cru Bojo. Lovely!
